PREPARING
FOR THE TRIP:
• Buy a high quality backpack(s). Never skimp on this
piece of equipment.
• Use a big backpack for clothes and accessories and
a smaller one for daily use.
CLOTHES AND ACCESSORIES:
•
The “golden rule” is to pack only what you’ll
really need. Things that you think you “might need” usually never get out of the back pack.
• Pack things in various plastic bags (Ziploc) – by changes
or type of clothes – it’s a lot easier finding
things this way. Have a plastic bag for dirty clothes, this
way your clean clothes don’t get that “used” smell.
• Pack a towel. Most hostels rent them for showering,
not for the beach.
• To save space in your backpack, roll up your clothes
instead of folding them.
• Clothes made of denim are heavy, take up a lot of
space and take a long time to dry.
• Shirts and shorts that don’t need ironing are
your best bet. A bathing suit, for sure.
• Comfortable shoes are a must. Sandals for the bathroom
and beach.
• Bring a padlock for your locker. If you travel by
bus at night, also bring a padlock to lock your back pack
to your seat.
• A few other important accessories: Money belt. “Zip
Lock” bags. Flash light. A small knife. Camera. Rechargeable
batteries and charger. Windbreaker jacket. Sun screen. First
aid kit. Pencil and notebook.
• Don’t travel with jewelry, expensive watches,
pens or glasses. Bring only commercial articles which are
easily replaceable.
ONCE INSIDE THE YOUTH “Hostel K3 Acapulco”
• After registering make up our bed and familiarize
yourself with the location of the bathrooms, common area,
kitchenette, etc, so that when you return at night you won’t
bother the other guests.
• The dorm area is for resting and sleeping. It has
a low level of lighting and should be kept as quiet as possible.
Group activities should be undertaken in the common area of
the hostel. Enjoy it!!!
• When there are people asleep in your room and you need to
look for something in your back pack, please do it in the
hallway not in the room.
• In the bathroom area there are always cleaning implements,
try to leave the area in better condition than you found it.
Take the least amount of time possible, someone else might
be waiting to use the facility.
• Program the washing of your clothes so that you won’t
have to do it the day you leave the hostel.
Be as nice and respectful as you can to your travel companions
and to the other guests, and also to the hostel employees
and in the places you visit. This will help you have a much
more pleasant trip.
WHAT NOT TO DO IN THE DORM AREA:
Loud conversation or volume on your radio. Introduce foul
smelling substances. Smoke. The use of alcohol or drugs. Hang
your underwear up to dry.
